In Music, Independent Study took many forms… composition, audio production, music theory, research, instrument study and event management; topics developed into programs with teacher guidance.
Piloted this year in HS was the Independent Music Study course. The course used a college-level instructional approach that put the students in charge of his or her learning.
Students chose the topic(s) to study in order to strengthen a college application, prepare for a future job, gain music certification or pursue a personal interest. Students also had the freedom to pace themselves; responding also to their personal aptitudes and abilities.
