Grade 7 Sea Turtle Conservation

Grade 7s will soon be creating advocacy videos for the conservation of leatherback turtles here in Trinidad.  This project will be a combination of service-learning and what they have learned in their Science course.

In preparation for this project, students were learning about what other countries are doing to protect their turtle species. Each student bullet-pointed these efforts on a world map for the specific countries they conducted further research on. They will then begin to compare and contrast the efforts made on our island when considering what more we can do to help. Students will be introduced to the world of advocacy, what it looks, sounds, and feels like.
