In our Pre-K 3 to Grade 5 Guidance Lesson we practiced thinking outside the box. We were asked to use our imaginations to complete the following template. We were free to use words, pictures, colours, shapes, dots, lines, ANYTHING, to make it our own! There was no right or wrong design and we all enjoyed being risk-takers as you can see from our pictures below.
This Thinking Outside the box activity was used to strengthen our students' thinking skills by encouraging them to use their imagination to complete their own designs while understanding and appreciating that the same starting point can have different but equally positive end points. It allows us as spectators to appreciate the thought processes of the students and embrace their different perspectives and individual uniqueness.
