Grade 1 Students Learn About Data
Grade 1 began this quarter learning all about data. They took surveys, created tally charts and used that information to create pictographs and bar graphs. At the end of the unit, we had a fun activity where students each received a pack of skittles to collect and record data. After predicting the number of Skittles in the pack, students sorted the Skittles into groups by colorado form a rainbow. They then used that data to create a tally chart. Finally, they used the tally chart to create colourful bar graphs.
