Library Update - November 11, 2022

Christmas is right around the corner and the library is buzzing with activity. Next week, our Christmas decorations will be up and a new puzzle will be out! It really was a community effort to finish the 1000-piece Halloween puzzle. The students begged us to keep it up past Halloween which we gladly accommodated. Now, they are working on a Thanksgiving puzzle and soon another 1000-piece holiday puzzle will be out. Hopefully, we will be able to finish it before we break!

In other news, our SDG book club is coming along nicely. During International Week, Priyanka, one of our high school students, read "Freida Makes a Difference," a book she donated to the library. Priyanka read to lower elementary classes, PK-2 and discussed the important effect of our individual choices. So far, lower ES students have covered, during their library classes, Goal 15: Life on Land, and Goal 14: Life Below Water. Next week we move on to Goal 13 which is Climate Change. Our students are learning what it truly means to be a caring, global citizen!

Lastly, I would like to send a big thank you to all the students and families who participated in our Mehendi event. It was such a treat to see everyone come together for one of our cultural events. I must say, I didn't anticipate seeing such a big turnout! I may need to find a bigger space for next year 😀

Have a lovely weekend!
