Biodiversity Mural From
International Week 2009

Each student was responsible
for drawing and painting
their own aspect of
biodiversity. The style of
art was inspired by native
Canadian artist Norval
Morrisseau.
Morrisseau is one of
Canada’s most
internationally known
artists. His art is
characterized by thick black
outlines and bright colors.
He believed that the
colors and shapes in his art
represented the internal
energy of the living things
he depicted.
In keeping with Morrisseau’s
style the visual art
students of ISPS were able
to capture the energy of the
earth’s biodiversity in this
incredible display.
A special thanks goes out to
the Arts Department for this
lovely Mural and to the
students who worked hard on
creating it. Also to the
Maintenance Department for
putting up the Mural in our
main staircase.
This project was created
under the guidance of
Ginger Taft, Josanne
Bally and Gina Sicotte
